Fawaz Gruosi, the founder of the Swiss watches and jewelry brand de Grisogono, opened his first boutique together with his partners in Geneve in 1993. Two years later he founded a company that was named de Grisogono, after the mother of one of the partners. Not later than one year after that, Gruosi introduced black diamond into the high-class jewelry production. Complete collections were later based upon that stone. White diamond was the base of jewelry collection introduced by de Grisogono in 2000, named Icy Diamonds. Two years later, company Chopard, whose Vice-President Caroline G.- Scheufele is his spouse, bought 47% of de Grisogono ownership, but Gruosi bought that back a few years later. Browny Brown Gold is a special kind of gold developed by de Grisogono in 2005, the same year its own jewelry production unit in Plain-les-U Atou was open.
