Since the Boston watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones (1841–1916) founded the International Watch Co. in the Swiss town of Schaffhausen, and until these days, a lot of water ran down the famous waterfalls of that little town, and IWC became superior brand in the world of fine watchmaking and a part of the mighty Richemont Group. IWC's watchmaking heritage consists of seven collections: Pilot's Watches, Portugese, Ingeneur, Aquatimer, Da Vinci and Portofino. They are being renewed from time to time, and never fail to delight connoisseurs and experts of those products. It was Portofino's turn this year, for which IWC designers found inspiration in the spirit of Italy of the last century.
